Train services on Dhaka-Mymensingh route suspended

Dhaka-Mymensingh rail communication was suspended after a train engine broke down in the Sreepur Upazila of Gazipur.

The incident took place in the Dhaka-bound Jamalpur commuter train in the Maijpara area in the middle of Kawraid station around 10:30 am on Saturday.

Shamima Jahan, master of Sreepur railway station, said that the commuter train bound for Sreepur left Kawraid railway station at around 10 am. The engine of the train broke down when it reached the Maijpara area in the middle of Satkhamir station. Due to this, train movement was stopped on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route. At this time, Mahua Express bound for Mymensingh stopped at Rajendrapur station and Brahmaputra Express bound for Dhaka stopped at Kauraid station.

He said that the engine of Mahua Express is being separated and taken to the damaged train to normalize the train movement. After that, the train will be brought to Sreepur station and train movement will be normalized on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route.
